Control Systems and Automation at Subsea 2016

This seminar held in the heart of the city of Kristiansand gained attraction from 75 delegates. These were professionals with a strong background in the industry. All items were related to the automation industry in oil & gas, but day one had a more broad agenda. With presentations from oil Co's the stage was set for day two sessions about standardization. From the supplier industry ABB, Siemens, FMC Subsea and Aker Solutions presented. Participants from the floor were contributing with critical questions which lead to good discussions.

We displayed our software products Once in the breaks. You could see how we contribute to lean engineering and standardization based on a best practise approach. Standardization must start within the individual companies, but we also need to standardize on how we exchange information in the lifecycle. Even if the industry have worked hard over the last five to seven years, standard Interfaces and protocols is not fully implemented in topside and subsea control systems. A configuration approach like Once, saves a lot of manual work and programming effort when changes like these are implemented.
